What Noëlle Does
Always a bit of a tricky question, subject to season and opportunity. During the spring and summer months when there are daytime low tides in Puget Sound, I work with The Seattle Aquarium's Beach Naturalist Program, explaining the incredibly amazing life found on/in our local beaches, tickling invertebrates and talking sex. I also teach a continuing education class for The Heritage Institute (Antioch University Seattle) covering these critters, their habitat, Puget Sound ecology... and sex. Although I have a punctuated history of working in two dimensional media - prints, drawing, and illustration (scientific and otherwise) - my work these days is primarily relief sculpture cast in concrete and/or bronze that can be used as architectural elements in pillars and walls, as post caps and decorative framing, ETC., or as stand alone pieces, inside or out. As I'm hopelessly smitten with most all things wild - and often beautifully weird - my subjects tend to be these critters, their relationships, the trials and tribulations in relationship to us and our overwhelming impact on their habitat and the ecology that sustains ALL OF US.
What Noëlle Does Best
Multi-million dollar query, this understanding is what I'm working towards. But, if you want to incorporate some thoughtful artwork into your living or working environment - something that can tell a story or infuse a little mystery - I can design, create and install.
